Jeff Phillips, owner of cigars and sundress party attended the 2024 Heritage Festival, Just days after the sundress and cigar party. It’s always good to see people come together we’ve came along way. The heritage festival and the cigar and sundress party is two of the largest events in Anniston.
"We not only celebrate the end of legal slavery in the United States, but also recognize the resilience, strength, and contributions of African Americans to our nation's fabric. We acknowledge the progress we have made towards equality, while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead," Barclay announced from the stage.
The variety of music here is unmatched in any other festival Kokeithia "Koko" Jackson, the host of the Koko Jackson Show, has been to. She said the peacefulness and kind atmosphere of Anniston has stood out to her.
"Seeing people dance like nobody's watching and interact with people they don't know in ways that brings the city together," resonates with her intention to push people towards their dreams through her talents.
POB Jay Marshall, originally from Lincoln, is a singer and songwriter of southern soul music who lost his mother on Frida. On Saturday, he was pushing himself to "be here for my people," in honor of his mother. (Anniston Star)

Barclay believes the concert to be one of a kind - it's free for all, and a unique way to reinforce community and celebrate resilience.
"You put on this event," said Barclay, referring to residents of Anniston.
The funds to hold the event come from the city of Anniston and various sponsors. It is a way for leaders to give back to the community, said Barclay.

Barclay calls the people's holiday: Juneteenth.
