With a passion for success and how he overcame obstacles, and hardship. Growing up in a single parent home. To now becoming a working actor/Director. Working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
"I get in my car and I'm driving on 20, driving back home, and I'm like oh my God... I'd really just done a scene with Will Smith. I couldn't believe it. I called my mom, I'm crying, she's crying, and we were just both ecstatic about it," says Brooks.
Brooks plays a doctor in the film and gives Will Smith CPR. The role comes after quite the journey for Brooks. In school, he was in special education classes because of a learning disability.
He was told he wouldn't go far, but now he speaks to special education students about how far they can go.
"A lot of times I was made fun of, but I kept going, and I didn't let that hinder me from where I wanted to go in life. I opened several different businesses, photography businesses and so when I come back, I go back and talk to special ed students about self advocacy," says Brooks.
Also along the journey, he learned his mother and biggest supporter had stage three cancer, she told him not to stop following his dreams.
"I'd tell him go on, I'll be ok. Just go on and do what you have to do," says Charlotte Brooks, Landon's mother.
Now, she's cancer free.
"To look at him and to know him you would never know. I just tell parents to keep encouraging your children. Be there. Be supportive of them," says Charlotte. Landon is glad she's around to see his biggest dreams come true.
Your are awesome in all you do. Glory to God for your Mom and the you up in. Our Lord was watching over you the entire time. Beautiful job to your Moms for raising a smart young king.
