Annual Pink Carpet Affair sponsored by Regional Medical Center Foundation

Krychelle Smith speaks at RMC foundation annual pink carpet event. This was her first time speaking publicly about being diagnosed with breast cancer . She spoke about general surgeon Dr. Crawford and how his staff has guided her through every step of the way. She encouraged everyone to do self breast exams.Breast cancer accounts for about 30% of all new cancer cases in women each year in the United States. Here is a look at the latest U.S. breast cancer statistics.


Charlotte Brooks of Anniston Alabama who is a two-time cancer survivor, surviving breast cancer in 2004 and stage 4 Non Hodgkin'slymphoma in 2017. Dr. Lattuada of Anniston Alabama said that Charlotte is lucky to be alive she had a complex case that demanded aggressive treatment. When ask what she thought about the initial diagnosis" I don't know why I wasn't scared ,I guess I just had a peace about it" I did not realize how serious it was. Said Charlotte. I just happen to put my hand up over my chest and found three small soft Knots over my collarbone I showed my son Landon Brooks and he said we need to get this seen about we made an appointment with Dr. Crawford. He asked How soon do you want to get this out? my son ask is it cancer and he said yes. After eight months of aggressive chemotherapy Charlotte today is 100% cancer free. She recommends all women to do routine breast exams and regular mammogram.If you're over 40 you need to get a mammogram once a year.
